Awards
Each year, awards for meritorious service in the field of public health and the environment are made by KPHA at the Kansas Public Health Conference. These awards serve to create an awareness of the organization in general and outstanding contributors to public health in particular. Any member may submit nominations for any or all of the awards. Unless specifically stated, awardees need not be members of KPHA.
The Awards Committee is charged with management of the awards process and has specific functions as outlined in the organizational bylaws:
- solicit and review nominees for designated KPHA awards;
- recommend individuals to the Board of Directors for the designated awards based on the policies, procedures and in accordance with the bylaws;
- establish and assist with the proceedings for presenting the awards at the annual meeting; and
- recommend the establishment or deletion of an award.
Awards Categories
Chair
The current chair is Becky Tuttle.
Conference
The Conference Committee consists of at least one member from each section. The committee makes the site arrangements, plans the programming and arranges for exhibitors and publicity for the annual Kansas Public Health Conference held in the autumn of each year.

Membership
This committee studies and evaluates, and supports matters relating to membership, in particular, recruitment and retention.

Nominating
The Nominating Committee solicits and accepts names for offices to be filled. From those names, it develops a ballot.
