Chief Executive Officer

NEK Multi-County Health Department is seeking a full-time Chief Executive Officer to provide day-to-day management of the tri-county Health Departments and Home Health / Hospice agency.  Minimum education level – Bachelors in nursing with business/financial background.  Kansas licensed RN required.  Candidate should possess strong leadership skills, managerial skills, grant writing skills and be willing to provide some direct patient care, including occasional backup call for Hospice nursing staff.  Team building skills, experience with Medicare/Medicaid and third party billing requirements and previous home health/hospice experience is highly preferred.  Salary is commensurate with experience.

Senior Analyst/Research Quality Assurance Manager

The Kansas Health Institute (KHI) has an immediate opening for a senior research analyst.  This position will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to both develop their own portfolio of applied health services research, as well as oversee the research quality assurance process for KHI.

Candidates for the position should have a doctoral degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience conducting research using a variety of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and data sources.  Desired experience includes working in an applied state or federal health policy setting, familiarity with grant and contract research, and a broad interest in public health, health insurance and health care delivery systems.

The ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary research setting is essential. Strong writing and verbal communication skills are essential.  This position will serve as a senior advisor on a variety projects across KHI as well as developing and leading projects in their own areas of interest.

Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Benefits include health insurance, retirement and other fringe benefits, and resources for professional development.

Communications Coordinator (Media/Policy Coordinator)

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment, Bureau of Health Promotion is seeking an experienced communications professional. This position will develop and implement health promotion media campaigns, provide communication guidance to bureau staff and local health departments, track effectiveness of communication activities, collaborate with public health partners, and assist with grant writing. A bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, PR, health education, health communication or a related program and 2 years of experience in planning, developing, implementing and coordinating PR, advertising or marketing is required. Eight years of work experience in these areas may be substituted for a college degree. Preferred experience includes 4 years of communication work, demonstrated ability to coordinate health promotions programs, experience in researching and analyzing public health data, and proficiency in using desktop publishing software (preferably InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator).
